| Bob joined Hot Springs Realty in January 2003 and bought the company in January 2006. Bob is most active in real estate sales and development of property on Lake Hamilton and around the greater Hot Springs area. He and his wife Janna, moved to Hot Springs in 2002 after a very successfully business career with Century Tube Corporation. Bob served as Director of North America Sales and Marketing for over 13 years and then as President of the company for over 8 years, until the company was sold in 2001. He has served on numerous local, state, and national civic and corporate boards. He is a member of the Hot Springs Board of Realtors and the National Board of Realtors. After living all over the United States, my family moved with my father, who was career military, to Little Rock. In my early adult years, I developed a serious interest in Scuba Driving which led me to the Cayman Islands. While there, I worked with the Spanish Cove Dive Resort and discovered a love for underwater photography. That talent landed me the position of teaching underwater photography and running the photo center. One of my favorite experiences while working there was the opportunity to sail 70’ yachts from St. Tomas to New York and Ft. Lauderdale to Hawaii. I lived that dream for five years before returning to Arkansas, where I purchased Arkansas Mailing & Business Systems, a small used mailing equipment company with 500 customers. After 20 years of growing the company into one that offered a variety of product lines with a customer base of 3500, I was approached by an out of state company, merged, then sold out my shares. Throughout those years, my wife and I spent many hours traveling the roads from Little Rock to Hot Springs to enjoy the beautiful lakes and water sports it has to offer. We finally made the decision to build our dream home on Lake Hamilton and leave Little Rock behind. These days, we find boating, MC riding, fishing and scuba diving right outside our backdoor. That led my wife, Melinda, to make the decision to move her business to Hot Springs this year.
Through my life experiences as a “military brat” and later, living in the islands where a variety of people traveled thought the photo center that I ran in the Caribbean, I learned that we may all look a little differently, talk a little differently, but one thing we all have in common is that we want to be treated fairly. In all my years as a businessman, I have prided myself on my efforts to do what I say and do what the customer has asked of me. My resume of friends and customers from around the world speaks for itself and has allowed me to sleep well at night.
